Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto (D-Hudson/Bergen) released the following statement on Wednesday following the Amtrak crash Tuesday evening that left at least five people dead.

“Rail transportation is a staple of life in New Jersey, and we know this train was headed through our state. For rail riders and their families, this is their worst fear.
“As we wait to learn more about what caused this crash, I hope for quick answers and good news for any New Jersey families facing uncertainty this morning. We will support them in any way we can.”
