Interchange 88 on the southbound Garden State Parkway in Lakewood is scheduled to close permanently at 7 p.m. tonight, November 10, as part of improvements being made to the connections between the Parkway and local roads at interchanges 88 and 89, the NJ Turnpike Authority said.
Southbound drivers who want to access Route 70 will now exit at Interchange 89 and proceed as directed over a newly constructed service road. Those drivers will pay a toll on exit at Interchange 89 but will no longer pay a toll at Interchange 88. The change will not affect the amount of the toll paid.
Signs on the southbound Parkway will direct drivers to use Interchange 89 to reach Route 70.
The work to close Interchange 88 will begin Monday evening and will be finished before rush hour Tuesday morning. There will be detours in place directing motorists to Route 70 while the work is being done.

Wow that’s superb!
They made such a mess out of Route 70 and Shorrock Road I sure hope they have some better plan when they’re done
