[Submitted] Just in time to accommodate guests arriving for the summer, Sorala’s Baby Gemach has formally opened their doors in Lakewood.
The gemach devotedly provides assistance for newborns and toddlers for whatever reason necessary; guests coming in from out-of-town for a simcha, a preemie needing special equipment or perhaps just newly blessed parents still deciding on a purchase.
So what does the gemach stock? Whatever you can think of!
•Pack ‘n plays, Sleepaway Baby
•Umbrella strollers [single and double], Baby Joggers [single and double]
•Car-seats [infant and toddler],
•Swings, bouncers, Booster chairs, Gates, Baby baths
•Nursing pumps, Boppy pillows
•Medical-grade baby scales, Audio/video monitors, and more…
All items are excellent quality & brand name. Should there prove to be consistent demand for other items not in stock, they can be added to the inventory as well.
The gemach’s intention is not to defenestrate the need to purchase; loans are short term with a maximum duration of 6 weeks. This, in turn, allows the gemach to maintain all items in top condition. There is no charge, although fully refundable deposits are required.
The Lakewood branch is located at 169 E. 4th street between Park Ave. and Negba St. can be reached at 732.503.8376. Hours are Monday and Thursday evening, 7:00-7:45pm. It is imperative to call and reserve to avoid disappointment. Additional pertinent information can be found at SoralasBabyGemach.com
The gemach features additional branches in Montreal, Baltimore, Detroit, Toronto, Thornhill, Minneapolis, Monsey, & Cedarhurst.

I’m not trying to hock, but there are already gmachim in Lakewood that loan almost all these items. Is it right to encroach on others Zchusim?
there is a need for more gemachim like this. There is more than 1 gemach for money– why dont everyone put there money in one place?
to YNkel:
it may seem that there are so many other gemachim but i just was able to borrow a pack n play + sleepaway baby, booster high chair seat, car seat and infant swing with ONE phone call! in the past it would have taken many, many calls to different gemachs. and in 2 weeks when my guests leave i will only have to make ONE dropoff stop to return everything. so i certainly appreciate the need they are filling. i guess if someone just needs 1 item they can call the other gemachs that are mostly for a specific type of items. this is more like one stop shopping .

You started off your comment your not trying to hock but that’s exactly what you are doing.
The more gemachim the merrier why not? Regarding your comment about taking away other people zechusim that doesn’t even deserve a response!!!
I think this is so nice. The website is really beautiful too. I think the other gmachim are for people who are in a difficult financial situation while this gmach is here to help people for convenience purposes. It’s amazing that so many products and services are offered. It should be an aliyah neshama…
What a beuatifull Idea! So needed in this town!
