Some NJ Transit Riders Can Expect Longer Lines And Crowded Trains Today

crowded trainNew Jersey Transit customers may encounter longer wait times and more crowded trains due to a few changes that went into effect Sunday. In order to cut costs, the agency dropped two trains from every line. Despite the inconvenience, riders say that they’re used to the cuts, and are prepared to make due with the newest changes. “I used to catch the 6:40am train in the morning that came from Atlantic City that they cancelled. A whole lot of people were disappointed with that situation, but there’s nothing we can do. It was a political situation, they’re going to do away with it,” says Ed Rice, a regular NJ Transit customer. Overall more than 30 trains are being discontinued. Most of the changes are for weekend early morning departures affecting close to 425 customers a week. NBC
