Reader-submitted: Please let your readership know I received an ominous call today from the Social Security office (their number came up on my caller ID).

The recording said my social security account was being suspended because of fraudulent activity etc.

I immediately hung up suspecting a scam.

I called Social Security directly and the girl told me someone is spoofing the Social security number to come up on caller ID but it is a scam.

So let your readers know to hang up on any of these scary sounding calls and call the Social Security office directly.
