As a storm system off the Carolina coast forecast to bring snow to the Jersey Shore this weekend takes shape, skies today will be clear, according to the National Weather Service. A hazardous weather advisory has been issued for all of New Jersey as well as parts of Maryland and Delaware. Snow is likely headed to the area late Friday night and throughout Saturday, though the advisory says it is too soon to predict accumulation amounts. In the meantime, temperatures will climb into the low 40s today with west winds between 8 and 13 mph under sunny skies. APP

R. Avigdor Miller taught us that snow is better for the vegetation because plants get the most out of a slow melting blanket of snow (which also keeps them warmer than without snow) as opposed to the rapid run-off of rain water. This helps grow better fruits and vegetables.
