The snow is coming down hard in Lakewood and around New Jersey this afternoon, resulting in treacherous road conditions.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which will remain in effect until midnight tonight. Around and inch of snow is expected.
Visibility is approximately half mile, the Service said.
There has been numerous accidents and spin-outs reported in around town including the Garden State Parkway – since the snow began falling.
Temperatures are falling, and with the wind-chill factor are expected to reach around zero tonight, causing flash freezing of roadways, the NWS said.
Mayor Akerman tells TLS the DPW has now begun salting, and will continue to salt for the next few hours. They were unable to do so earlier due to the rain, the Mayor said.

They should just mount plows on half the buses.
