PHOTOS: The Shore Shot Pistol Range was evacuated this afternoon after smoke began filling the building, officials say.

The fire department was called about 4:25 PM after receiving reports there were flames coming from the roof, police say.

Upon arrival, police and firefighters found a moderate smoke condition inside the building. The building was evacuated.

Lakewood EMS, Lakewood First Aid responded to the scene, as well as firefighters from Brick as mutual aid.

A preliminary assessment points to a broken exhaust fan as the cause of the fire, officials said.

Firefighters are ventilating the building. No injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
