Small plane crashes into New Jersey home [UPDATED]

A small plane has crashed into a home in Colonia, NJ.

The FAA said the accident occurred around 11 AM.
Two homes caught fire and a second alarm was transmitted.

The pilot’s condition is unknown, however, there were no reported injuries on the ground.

An elderly woman who lives nearby was evacuated.

The aircraft is reportedly a Cessna 414.

The FAA is heading to the scene to begin their investigation.

  1. I hate to say this and shiver at the thought, but it’s only a matter of time before this happens in Lakewood. I live between 2 and 3 miles from the Lakewood Airport and planes fly less than 50 feet above my home. If the pilot sneezes residences can be in big trouble.

    I have a photo but can’t upload it here. Something needs to be done

  2. Well apparently this doesn’t happen in the 5 towns with JFK feet away….
    If the plane is serviced responsibly we should hopefully be good…

  3. Sad that someone lost there life, very sad.
    Flying is still one of the safest ways of travel. The Lakewood airport was built in the 1940’s so if anyone is really worried about the safety of it then he/she should not have moved near an airport. We need to focus on the infrastructure around Lakewood because of the dozens of accidents that happen every single day on our roadways. That is what we should all be worried about. Prayers to all involved.
