Singer Lauds Jury Conviction In Hometown Officer’s Murder Says This Is The Kind Of Murder That Warrants Capital Punishment

Senator Robert Singer (R-30) praised a jury conviction today of Jahmell Crockam, who killed Lakewood Police Officer Christopher Matlosz in the line of duty last year. “This cold-blooded tragedy took the life of a 27-year-old hero from his family, friends and our community,” said Singer, a Lakewood resident. “This morning, justice was properly served for Chris and his loved ones.”

Matlosz is the only on-duty police officer ever killed in Ocean County. Crockam shot Officer Matlosz in public, in daylight, in front of witnesses, according to authorities. He faces life in prison, without parole.

“This is exactly the kind of murder that warrants a limited capital punishment system in New Jersey ,” noted Singer, who sponsors S-175 to restore the death penalty for cop killers, among others. “We should be able to sentence the most-brazen and deadly murderers to the fullest extent humanly possible, as is done in other states.” TLS.

This is EXACTLY crockam! He shot a police officer, point blank, in the light of day. Nothing warranted such an attack. He, and others like him are a danger to society, and should not have the privilege to live amongst humanity. Either he goes away for life, or gets the death penalty. There shouldn’t be any wiggle room whatsoever.
