Sign Erected For Future Site Of Chris Matlosz Memorial Playground

PHOTO: This morning, just days before the first anniversary of the death of Police Officer Chris Matlosz, a sign marking the future site of the ‘Matlosz Memorial Playground’ has been erected. The playground, sponsored by local companies Marturano Recreation and Rubberecycle, is expected to be completed in time for the Summer 2012 season.

The location of the playground, at the John Patrick Sports Complex, was decided on by the Lakewood Police Department, the Department of Public Works and by the companies donating the playground.

When the location of the playground was announced, Township Committeeman Ray Coles told TLS the Township was unable to add a children’s playground at the park when the park was built, due to a lack a funds, and welcomes the decision of placing the playground there. TLS.
