Police responded a short time ago to a home on Elm Street for reports of gunshots fired at a home. The driver fled the scene and neighboring Townships have been notified to look out for the vehicle with plate # ZTT-23P. Nobody was injured during the incident. The Prosecutors Office has been notified and is investigating. TLS-CCP/TLS-00

#3 you can be scared or get your self a gun, and quite thinking the police will always be there to protect you. police come after the crime to investigate rarely are they there to stop a crime. what will you do if major riots brake out in lakewood you think the police will stand guard outside your home? i really dont get it, just answer this question what will you do when the boogie man shows up?

its fresser again………..owning a gun doesn’t mean you can protect yourself from a problem. most of the time you cannot shoot someone for being in your home anyway. are you going to spend the money to learn how to shoot, handle, reload, maintain , secure from children. its just not that easy to say go buy a gun for protection. The police are proactive in preventing many crimes, but do also respond after the fact. So don’t run out and buy a gun, would take months anyway to get and cost close to a thousand when your done. Get a good old wooden bat from the sports authority or dicks and man up.

were you are wrong:
taking a bat, and charging at the suspect- is claiming your not ‘that’ afraid to move your body, closer to his. that takes away the “i was scared” tactic in court. obviously not to scared of him, if you walked towards him. secondly, beating someone with a bad, looks bad in court- and you know in court a lawyer can turn anything around and make you the aggressor, even in your own home. because in court they wont tell the jury that he was there to rob, rape & kill you. his lawyer is going to say he was on a drug & drunk, and confused and made a mistake thinking it was his house…. he had no intentions of hurting anyone. 3rd- what if there are two or more armed suspects? your going to swing your bat, at two people? or three people? what if they pick up a chair to block your bat and walk it towards you with another guy behind him to subdue you?
where you are right:
it will take a few months, and a couple hundred dollars to obtain a firearm, but are you that lazy & cheap to think that $500-$700 and 3months is to much & to long to possible protect your family from multiple intruders?
bottom line is- it doesnt take less then a fraction of a second, and an inch for a suspect to NOT WANT TO ADVANCE TOWARDS YOU if you are pointing a gun at him. if you bring a knife, or a bat- odds are something in your own home, could be used against you in that type of a fight to protect the criminal against you & your knife/bat.
Uncle Fishy – I mean no disrespect – but if it’s known that there is a good chance of aremed retaliation – the deterrent effect would be massive. Fewer break ins – etc. But in principle, I agree with you that any protection is better than none. I respect the job that law encforcement does – both proactive and reactive, but no one can be everywhere always. By the way, ‘It’s Fresser Again’ – sounds like you don’t like me too much. Sorry. listen. you come on my property, and your gonna know if i dont want you there. im not scared of retaliation or anything that perp’s ego is gonna think up. id rather have retaliation, then someone coming back to rob me AGAIN, because the first time was just so easy. or they noticed a nice china set, on the way out of the first robbery.
And i dont care nor am i afraid about the NJ state rules of engagement regarding protecting life & property via deadly force in my own home. id rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6.
if you come to harm my family or i- and i deem it absolutely necessary after ample verbal warnings, that your not going to retreat & stop what your doing, i will put 3 in your center mass.

Mr Conservative – I never said to take a bat and charge at someone or attack someone, merely buying a bat to defend yourself with an intruder. You are wrong you can order someone out of your home all you want but you cannot shoot that person, because he will not listen to you. I would hate to see a drunk person walk into your home, not understand your language and your gonna shoot him? # in the center mass, I hope he’s not wearing a three hundred dollar bullet proof vest. Two in the chest one in the head, but if thats all you can hit then so be it.

Its my love for my family that makes me this way. my family relies upon me to face a threat & eliminate it or at best, reduce it. i wont cower to a threat, and hope a higher power or the police officers on-duty come help us. I think men need to stand up and be men again. the hunter & gatherer & protectors of the den, wife/kids.
