CIU and LPD shooting picPHOTOS & VIDEO: (UPDATED 11:10 a.m.) At approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning, police responded to the area of East 7th and Park Avenue after a resident reported hearing shots fired in the area. The resident – who also contacted TLS at the time to inquire on the shots fired – says he heard at least 4-5 shots fired, but did not see any activity outside his home.

It was later discovered that the shots were fired after a party in the are of Stirling Avenue.

There was nobody hit by the bullets, sources say, but police believe they have information on the intended target.

The shooter fled the area.

On December 18, 2010, a man was shot and killed on the same block, as reported here on TLS.

The shooting is under investigation. TLS-CCP.

  1. WAKE UP LAKEWOOD! WE NEED TO CONTROL CRIME B4 WE ARE FORCED TO MOVE OUT OF THIS CRIME-RIDDEN TOWN! WE NEED TO ELECT THE RIGHT PEOPLE TO DO THE JOB! WE NEED MORE COPS NOT LESS! WHERE ARE ALL OUR TAX DOLLARS BEING FUNNELED TO? WE NEED TRANSPARENCY!

  2. to #1 & everyone
this town is full of crime. It is time for all of us to go to Eretz Yisroel. the only reason it is full of so much crime & latino immigrants is a reminder from Hashem that Lakewood is not our home & Eretz Yisroel is our REAL home. Wake up NOW before things get worse & we need more reminders from hashem C”V.

but we just don’t seem to miss Eretz Yisroel & are not yearning for Mashiach. Hashem is telling us when you can show me that you miss Eretz Yisroel & go there i will give you Mashiach & the bais hamikdosh but right now your all just not ready.

All of us have heard, read & seen tons of true stories of people who had their first child at 42 or had a sick child that the doctor said i’m very sorry but your daughter has only 3 hours to live & then he comes back 2 hours later & says its really a miracle but your child is beginning to recover. Why is it that they finally had a child or the child recovered? Its a Pasuk we say 3 times a day in Davening. Hashem is close to all who call to him, to all who call out truthfully. (Tehillim 145)Because they cried out from their heart, they really meant what they were saying when they davened to H-shem to have a baby or for his daughter to recover etc…. theres a reason we call Hashem, Avinu She’bashamayim (our father in heaven) Hashem loves us from a father to a son. If we really cried out for the Bais Hamikdosh from our heart with truth & show that we are missing it, then we wouldn’t still be in Golus today.

  3. You’re joking #7, right? Oh, wait , you probably got a ticket for not following the rules of the road. Therefore, in your mind, we have too many cops. Call someone else then, when your house is being burglarized.

  4. #7 that the coward answer. Crime has been fought and won in many towns across this great country. Sadly non were won with finger pointing. We need a leadership that is cut out for this. Perhaps a very competent former anti gang leader that could be retired from a big crime city. He can be as young as 45 and ready to take this on. Denial and finger pointing is what got one officer buried and bullets flying here weekly FOR THREE YEARS AND NOTHING DONE ABOUT IT!

  5. We need transparency from the township to see crime stats. They should also specify (via web/print/townhall etc…) what they have done for decreasing crime. Transparency is key!!!!!!!

  6. You are right.
Not many are sincere though, but when they are, they can expect tremendous power to be released.

There is hand writing on the wall. Some are to afraid to deal with it and pretend the times are better.

Two things to consider if moving to Israel
    1. do to recent events in Egypt, you can be sure of major trouble on the not far future

    2. The One protecting Israel will defend the Apple of His eye…when they realize they need Him and call upon Him. The Mesiah will come with All Power and Glory.

    Tic-toc, tic-toc, closer and closer.
