A Lakewood woman walking with her husband on Friday night was assaulted, TLS has learned.
At about 2 AM following the Friday night Shabbos meal, the couple – pushing a stroller – was walking home to their Coventry Square home when the woman began screaming.
The husband quickly turned around and saw a man grabbing his wife.
“I began screaming too and the guy fled,” the victim’s husband told TLS. “He just snuck up on us from behind – we didn’t hear a thing,” he said.
The woman was terrified, but luckily not injured.
The couple ran to a neighbor who had a taxi waiting outside and had the taxi cab driver phone police.
Police searched the area but were unable to find the suspect, who was described as light-skinned (and possibly Latino) male, with long hair – “which may have been a wig” –Â and tight pants.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lakewood Police.

Coventry Square does have security cameras. However, after a tumul a few yrs ago, I think they shut then off on Shabbos. Does anyone know the status of these cameras ?
