There are only days to go until we once again stand at Har Sinai and accept the Torah with a resounding Naaseh Venishma. It’s a Yom Tov that we look forward to with excitement and anticipation, replete with joyous meals and beautiful flowers.
For many of us, however, it’s a time of stress and agonizing worry. There are those in our community who don’t have the funds to provide their families with a simchas Yom Tov. Every trip to the grocery brings tension and heartache.
In this difficult economic climate, we all have to consider the destination of our charitable giving.
This coming Shavuos, Tomchei Shabbos will be distributing close to 30 boxes of food to over 1,500 local families. Boxes brimming with produce, meat and chicken, dairy delicacies, and nosh for the kids, will be dropped off at families in our community, allowing them to make Yom Tov with dignity and peace of mind.
