Although Shaving and Haircuts are prohibited until Lag Ba’omer, when Lag Ba’omer falls out on Sunday, shaving and haircuts are permitted on Friday in the honor of Shabbos, according to the ‘Rama’. However, according to many, it is Assur to shave or take a haircut on Motzei Shabbos. It would also not be permitted to do so on Thursday evening, if one has time on Friday (Mishnah Berura). As always, please check with your local Rav for clarification.

Does this heter apply also to those that hold like the arizal that the issur on haircuts lasts until erev Shavuos?
In T’shuvas Ohr Yitzchak vol. 2 is says this year since you are permitted to shave Erev Shabbat, you can also shave on Thursday.
The rulings in T’shuvas Ohr Yitzchak apply only to certain sefardim and does not apply to others. Are there any other oisgehaltene poskim that allow shaving on this thursady?
The sentence structure makes this halacha almost incomprehensible. Do you mean that when Lag Baomer falls out on Sunday, shaving and haircuts are prohibited until Lag Baomer except on Fridays? Or that because Lag Baomer falls out on Sunday, it is permissible to shave on the preceding Friday?
And once I’m nitpicking, shaving and Haircuts are not proper nouns, and need not be capitalized.
When di Ohr Yitzchok Vol II come out ans is it only available from the mechaber?
TLS you are now like the dear rabbi of Lakewood…….answering everyones questions……priceless
The majority of the Shailos in Ohr Yitzchok were submitted by Ashkenazim and the teshuvos apply to Ashkenazim. It is a brilliant sefer for those that are proficient in Halacha and not simply looking for a quick fix guide or kunterus.
Trying to find ohr yitZchok in BMG library can’t seem to find it also asked around no one even heard of it
The mechaber of Ohr Yitzchak was the Rav who Rav Shneur Kotler z’l asked all his Halachah questions to. He was the Posek that Reb Aaron Kotler z’l made the Posek in lakewood at the time.
T’shuvas Ohr Yitzchak can only be bought directly from the mechaber. Volume 2 has just came out this Pesach. In Lakewood.

One who is always makpid on the Tzava’a of R’ Yehuda HaChasid not to shave, cut hair or nails on Motza’ai Shabbos may shave in honor of SHabbos on the 31 day of the omer.
