PHOTOS: Serious MVA Shuts Route 9 North at Howell Border; Driver Airlifted [UPDATED]

Route 9 northbound just north of the Howell border is shut due to a serious accident.

The extrication team and a Medevac were requested to respond.

Traffic is backed up into Lakewood, and a detour is in place.

The incident was first reported on our News Alerts (@LakewoodScoop).

UPDATE: The driver of the van was reportedly critically injured. A source on scene tells TLS it took emergency workers approximately 30 minutes to cut the patient from the vehicle.

Route 9 northbound is expected to be shut for several hours for the investigation.

U mean 30 minutes to cut the vehicle from the patient not cut the patient from the vehicle, I hope

#1 you remove the pacing from vehicle, you don’t remove vehicle for patient. Cut is the method

For all these rude remarks. I pray that everyone is OK. I don’t mind sitting in traffic as long as these victims get help quickly and are safe. Wouldn’t want it to be anyone in my family. If it were yours, you would sit in traffic all day…just saying.
