VIDEO: Senator Singer and other politicians and Askonim will be joining Governor Christie on his trip to Israel this week, Senator Singer tells TLS. The Governor will be joined by his wife, children and other family members in what will be his first official visit to a country outside the U.S. as governor.
The Senator describes the trip as a trade mission, which will also give the Governor some personal time with family and acquaintances.
Singer says there’s a strong bond between Israel and New Jersey, business-wise, as many high-tech and pharmaceutical companies have presence in New Jersey.
Senator Singer is the only Senator invited by the Governor to join him on the trip.
The group will be returning later next week. TLS.
so who is paying the bill ..!
Christie 2016!!
Just curious which askonim are able to get away the week of Pesach no less – lets not kid ourselves why they are going which is fine – but for anyone the week of Pesach is an extremely busy and hectic week. Just really curious how they are able to get away… or more to the point how their wives allow them to go to Israel while they stay home and tend to all the Yom Tov preparations.
I didn’t know the State of New Jersey had become the Republic of New Jersey. Unless he is taking a family vacation the governor has no business visiting foreign countries. That is a responsibility reserved for U.S. Congress members, ambassadors, the U.S. Secretary of State and the Office of the President.
to Really?
The Governor of this State and any other state has all the reason to travel to New York, Texas, Mexico, England and even Israel if thats where he can – and probaly will find more business for the State.
I would guess that he will be footing the bill anyway (esp. after the infamous Helicopter ride) – so that would be a win-win situation.
I hope this answers all your questions….
A trip to Israel is part and parcel of getting a candidate foreign policy credibility. Just about every politician goes on a visit prior to a presidential run.
wishing all a safe trip.
Why did you not print my comment. Are you afraid of the emes. Shame on you!
more of my taxs gone
Once again, negative comments….well, here are some facts as reported within the Star Ledger article.
Members of the traveling delegation will pay for their own travel and hotel costs, but Choose NJ and the RJC will cover the cost of on-site activities, transportation and meals in Israel.
