Senator Booker Calls For Impeachment

Following Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s press conference this morning, New Jersey Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker released a statement calling for the impeachment of President Trump, joining a growing number of Democrats who are urging House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to begin impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives.

In his statement, Booker said “I have been asking for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s testimony, and today he made his views clear. Mueller said directly that it wasn’t for lack of evidence that criminal charges weren’t brought against President Trump – but because of Department of Justice policy. He made clear that it is the role of Congress to evaluate evidence against a sitting President and act accordingly.

“Since the Mueller report became public, the president has consistently stonewalled Congressional oversight efforts and has made it nearly impossible to investigate serious open questions presented by the report. The president’s clear marching orders to Attorney General Barr and former White House Counsel Don McGahn demanding that they refuse congressional subpoenas is simply the latest example of the lengths to which this president is willing to go in order to prevent the American people from learning the truth.

“We have one remaining path to ensure justice is served. It is our legal and moral obligation to hold those who have committed crimes accountable. It’s clear that the House must begin impeachment proceedings. No one is above the law,” read the statement.

Booker’s call for impeachment is likely a political stunt in an attempt to shore up his waning national poll numbers. A poll by Morning Consult released early this morning had Booker in 7th place among Democratic presidential candidates, garnering just 3% support nationally.

    • The, the joke is on us. But it is not funny. Although, the vast majority of Torah-Jews in New Jersey support Republican candidates, the Rabbis in places like Lakewood, Passaic, etc., will endorse Booker in exchange for promises of increased entitlement$ to the Yeshiva communitie$. Sad, but true.

  3. Cory booker is definitely trying his best shot at the presidency. If in any way he sides with president Trump he diminishes his chances of winning.

  5. Moshe Garfinkel-that’s quite a statement you just made there with no way to back up any of it. Just for the record, at least with Lakewood they never back a presidential candidate as far as I can remember. The Lakewood Vaad however does recommend and always stresses the importance of Hakoras Hatov. I can assure you no-one is expressing any such gestures to Cory the Loser Booker..

  6. Booker and rest of the Democrats are guilty of the highest treason. They are facsists-lite who lust for power and nothing else. The silver lining is that they will be the very cause for President Trump to be re-elected,the House to become Republican once more and with a greater majority in the Senate. Wait and see. And when that happens we will have the last laugh.
