Sell Fireworks And Earn Yourself Prison Time

Celebrating the Fourth of July with fireworks could prove to be a dud for Garden State residents. State police are warning that it’s illegal to sell, use or possess fireworks in New Jersey , including firecrackers, Roman candles, cherry bombs and even sparklers , without a permit. They say they’ve stepped up enforcement activities during the summer “fireworks season” and will confiscate whatever they find. Patrols also are looking out for motorists who travel to Pennsylvania or other nearby states to purchase fireworks and bring them back into New Jersey. Simple possession is a disorderly persons offense, but possession with intent to sell carries a penalty of up to 18 months in prison and fines up to $10,000. AP
