As earlier reported on TLS Status, a scooterist was injured when he collided with a vehicle in Lakewood this afternoon.
The accident happened approximately 1:30 PM on Forest Avenue.
The scooterist, approximately 10 years old, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials on scene said it appears a vehicle illegally parked at the corner contributed to the accident due to it blocking the view.
Chaveirim was called to jack up the vehicle to remove the stuck scooter.
Police are investigating.

No parking zones are there for a reason!! Maybe now the cops will crack down on all the illegally parked cars!!
history was made today. A corner-hugger was actually ticketed in Lakewood!!! Shame that only when accidents happen do they ticket. Preventative is the smarter way!
They should ticket those selfish corner huggers all day every day.
LPD turned a blind eye for all these years allowing people to become too comfortable parking city style. It’s now a tough game of catchup for them; while we all have to endure it and be in danger!
Turns out scooterist was riding on the wrong side of the rode. Bicyclists and scooterists need to learn that they have to ride with traffic and follow all traffic laws.
The corner hugger should be named as a defendant in any lawsuit the child files for his medical and/or other injuries.
Every other corner hugger in town is on notice that he/she will be held financially liable for all injuries caused due to their violation of the parking laws and creating a dangerous road environment for scooterists.
As the manager of the apartments at that corner, I see hundreds of cars hugging that corner & all others up & down Forest Avenue every day. Dangerous situations that needs to be looked into!
Yes, the scooter was on the wrong side of the road. May HaShem speed his recovery. I live on Cypress, CARS drive on the wrong side of the road. I have seen drivers laugh at other cars that have to stop or get out of the way. The scooters was following the example set by his adults.
