The Lakewood Board of Education at its meeting last night unanimously voted to utilize the services of the New Jersey School Boards Association of Trenton to conduct a Superintendent search. New Jersey School Boards Association has been involved in the search process throughout the State for many years and provides a full search consultant process.
The process will commence immediately with an initial meeting between the Board and School Boards Service Representative Kathy Winecoff expected to occur next week.
During a public presentation at last night’s meeting Ms. Winecoff explained the process to the more than 150 people who attended the Board meeting and assured all that the process will be fully transparent and actively involve Board members, educational staff, parents/guardians and members of the culturally diverse community.
Current Superintendent Lydia Silva who has served as Superintendent of Lakewood schools since July 27, 2009 will be retiring after more than 30 years of service to children both in New York and New Jersey. TLS.
