Some Poskim hold, that one who has no yet counted the Sefira of Lag Ba’omer, should avoid saying ‘Today is Lag Ba’omer, since doing so may be considered counting the day. However, other Poskim say it is not an issue, being that his intention is not to count the day, but rather just to refer to the special day of Lag Ba’omer. As usual, we advise to consult your local Rav.
