The following is a message from Sally Wells, Outreach Liaison, RWJUH Blood Services. 

On behalf of the patients throughout the RWJBH system, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all of the donors who participated in the blood drive yesterday at MMCSC.

Hospital employees, Bikur Cholim representatives, Township employees and residents of the Lakewood community really set a fine example for the public to follow by donating blood at this very critical time of year. We received a lot of positive feedback and thank you for you generous donations. This blood drive was a huge success!

63 people registered and we collected 54 units of blood giving us the ability to sustain and/or save over 80 lives!!

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers of Bikur Cholim of Lakewood for their continuous support and for their assistance throughout the planning and during the blood drive. We look forward to continue working together with them in the future.

A big thank you goes out as well to The Lakewood Scoop for their amazing willingness to get the message out to the public about this event. We truly would not have had the turnout that we had without them. We know we can rely on them. Thank you TLS!

We look very much forward to continuing such blood drives as they are needed in the future.
