  1. It may make more sense to make arrangements and accommodations for him to daven elsewhere. It may not be easy for him, but it may be the only option. To offer a minyan of 10 people is not very appealing to many of us who at the very least want a sizable tzibbur.

  2. Qa,

When you are over 100 remember to tell your friends to wheel you to a shul instead of helping you feel most comfortable in the building you might be in at that time.

I hope you are still davening well when you are over 100 yrs old!

  3. Maybe he could go to Lakewood Courtyard for yom tov..there is minyan food etc…if need be..what is the cost?…and we readers can sponsor him…it will be a zchus for us..I would agree to be mishtatef..any comments?

  4. the shul in washington square basement IS a Normal shul, used regularly every shabbos. on yom tov many ppl go away so there is not much of a minyan, thats all. it would be a lot easier to shlep together a minyan and get a tremendous tremendous zechus, to all you able walkers….

  5. Wish I had read this sooner. I would walk there from my office on Madison Ave to help a 100 + year old person daven from the comfort of his residence. Any of you self centered bozo brains who suggest he be wheeled elsewhere or accept a monetary contribution have much to learn about life. I am a 100% non-religious service participating Jew whose grandfather was the president of Congregation Sons of Israel on Park Ave in the 1940s. But I would stand and daven as best I could for such a brave and honorable man out of respect to his age, commitment to Judaism and the unspeakable suffering he endured. He never lost his faith. Should such a circumstance arise again you can count on me.

  6. What a beautiful Davening!
    What a great Zchus!
Thank you Yaniv and Shloima for arranging this minyan.
May all that were Mishtatef be blessed with a sweet new year!

    Yom Kippur?

  7. Let me know. Simply to be in the presence of a triple digit Holocaust survivor on the holiest day of the year would be an honor in itself. While I admit to a comprehensive aversion to ritualistic prayer of any kind, my father’s three words of advice to me when I left home to go to college were as follows: “be a mensch!”. Should you need a tenth mensch to complete your minyan of mercy, you can count on Mordechai Shepsol to show up.

  8. Thank you to everyone that participated in the Minyan. The davening was very inspiring.
Thanks to everyone who even considered attending the Minyan.
We are ONE people under Hashem and we ALL share in each others zechusim which are many.

Special thanks to Yaniv and Shaindy for getting the word out.
