Rob Desimone, Former Lakewood Police Lieutenant and School Security Director, Dies Suddenly

Retired Lakewood Police Lieutenant Rob Desimone, who most recently served as Director of Security for the Lakewood School District, has passed away suddenly, TLS has learned.

Lt. Desimone retired from the Lakewood Police Department in 2017 after a distinguished career, rising through the ranks to serve as a respected and dedicated lieutenant.

In 2018, he was appointed Director of Security for the Lakewood School District, where he continued to serve the community with integrity and professionalism, ensuring the safety of thousands of students and staff each day.

Rob suffered a heart attack yesterday and was pronounced a short time later. He was 56.

“Rob was not just a colleague – he was a true friend to so many of us in the department,” said a former colleague. “He served with honor, heart, and a deep sense of responsibility to this town. His presence, leadership, and laugh will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.”

Desimone’s passing has left a deep void in both the law enforcement and school communities in Lakewood, where he was admired for his leadership, warmth, and unwavering commitment to Lakewood’s safety.

Funeral arrangements will be published when available.
