Retired Lakewood PBA President using his motorcycle passion for a good cause

Letter from Retired Lakewood Officer and PBA President Gary Przewoznik.

Hello,

I ride a motorcycle in the Police Unity Tour to Washington DC, which was started in May 1997. The Police Unity Tour was organized and established with the hopes of bringing public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. What started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. has grown into nine chapters consisting of nearly 2500 members nationwide who make the trip annually.

Using my passion for motorcycles, and honoring my commitment to participating in the tour every year, I plan to purchase and design a moving memorial to three men who tragically lost their lives while on the job. The motorcycle would be vinyl wrapped with their images, names and pictures from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington DC.

This memorial police motorcycle would be used for the Police Unity Tour each year, as well as other events, such as the Night Out Against Crime, parades, and other police related events. The Lakewood Chief of Police, Greg Meyer, feels this would be a great way to honor our fallen brothers and has fully endorsed this project. I have also received the endorsement from a great friend Nate Hershkovitz, owner of Elite Emergency Vehicle Solutions, who will be helping with all lighting on the motorcycle.

This is where I need financial support. In the past I have used my own money and resources to keep the promises I made from the time I worked as a Lakewood Police Officer and as the Lakewood PBA President before retiring in 2014. I have, with the help of a good friend and Brother in Blue, Dennis Jarin, developed a challenge coin to help honor our fallen and to also raise funds to build this dream of mine.

The challenge coin can be purchased through a PayPal account for $20, plus a minimal shipping cost. (please contact me for purchase of a challenge coin, the goFundme page is NOT for challenge coin purchases). All proceeds go directly into the building and upkeep of this one of a kind Police Memorial Motorcycle. Please help me to help keep the memories of my fallen Lakewood Brethren alive. These men, like so many others, have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and their country. Let us never forget any of them. God Speed.

I appreciate your support and I thank you in advance for any help you can provide me in this endeavor.

Let’s help Gary reached his goal. See his GoFundMe page here.
