Residents Report Concerns Regarding Identity Of FEMA Inspectors

Numerous concerns have been reported to officials regarding the validity of the individuals performing the inspections for FEMA for residents who have filed claims. Officials say, the individuals are FEMA contractors and not FEMA employees. However, attached is an example of a legitimate ID utilized by the contractors conducting inspections for FEMA, should you question the individula’s identity. Additionally, If you have applied for assistance, you can speed the process by having key items available. They will need to see:

1. Picture Identification (Driver’s License, Voter Registration Card etc.)
2. Proof of Ownership/Occupancy of damaged residence (Structural
Insurance, Tax Bill, Mortgage Payment Book/Utility Bill etc.)
3. Insurance documents: Home and/or Auto (Structural Insurance/Auto
Declaration Sheet)
4. List of household occupants living in residence at time of disaster
5. All disaster related damages to both real and personal property
