Resident Finds Burglar Climbing Through Bedroom Window

A 14th Street resident woke early morning to the find a burglar climbing through a bedroom window, sources say. The startled girl woke up shortly after 1 AM when she heard noises, and saw a 6-foot white male half way into her home.

The girl yelled and then ran to get her mother, and when they went back into the room, the window was shut. A chair was found outside the window.

LCSW and Police were called, but the perpetrator was gone.

CIU was called in to investigate. TLS-60/TLS-46/TLS-CCP.

  1. Was the window locked? Next time do not return to the room!! Call police and tell them there is a robber in your home and lock your door to the room you are in!

  2. welcome to lakewood, where the residents provide a place to live for criminals and then complain when the criminals, commit crime within the town.

WAKE UP SLUM-LORDS! YOU COULD BE THE NEXT VICTIM!!! Money over safety is a bad idea!!!

  3. The community provides opportunities for robbers to enter their homes….unlocked doors, unlocked windows. You invite them in and then complain when they come in. I’ve lived in Lakewood over 35 years and never was robbed. Of course, I never gave anyone an opportunity to come in and help themselves. Thank G-d the girl woke up and didn’t get hurt. It could have ended so much worse for that family.

  4. Not everyone is capable of accurately firing a 9mm, but pepper spray can disable a criminal long enough for the victim to escape. Oh, and it doesn’t require training, a license, and it doesn’t kill anyone.

  5. to the person bout the picture. that wouldn’t be him. just a picture.
luckily no one was hurt cause that would have scared the (moderated) out of me.

  6. Why does that family not have an alarm system? Or at least security pins though the window frames to prevent someone from forcing open the window. (Years ago when we lived in a basement apartment, it was broken into with a forced entry through a window. After that our landlord had an alarm system installed as well as door hinge pins put into the window frame so it can’t be forced open.)
