Reposted: Chometz Burning Sites Around Town

bmg_chometz_burning(TLS photo of Biur Chometz at BMG) Below is a list of the Chometz Burning locations around town. DFM William Gee asked TLS to stress to the community to no plastic items, large cardboard boxes and glass containers be placed in the dumpsters. All of these items fill the dumpsters up quickly. “We are asking  people not to bring  plastic and glass containers for the fires because the contents when warmed will expand and explode causing the heated contents to explode, sending the heated debris into the participants or children causing them to be burned or injured”. “If that occurs the fire marshal’s at the site may shut it down” he said. “In the last year, several bonfires in other areas of New Jersey have caused injury to the participants, so we are asking everyone to please follow the rules to prevent anyone from injury”.

The locations are:

1. BMG Parking lot  –  7th and Private Way
2.  BMG – Little League Field – 10th and Clifton
3. Cong. Zichron Yaakov  175 Sunset
4.  Chateau Grand Parking lot –  978 River Ave. (if approved by property owner)

Don’t say the bitul until your chametz was burnt! Not right after you throw it.

Tyrone Brown, it is apparent from the lack of proper vocabulary you spew that you aren’t that mature. Obviously you have too much time on your hands. It has become a very unpleasant experience coming onto TLS anymore brecause of your unpleasant comments EVERYWHERE…..TLS President you should really consider banningyour newest celebrity. They’re making a mockery of your blog site.

I would like to publicly thank the Fire Marshal and all of the members of the Fire Department that oversaw Beir Chametz today. It was not an easy job standing in the rain all day, dodging bags of Chametz being thrown while making sure we could be M’kayaim the Mitzvah in a safe and dignified way. For that matter thank you to the DPW who manned the various sites for garbage disposal under very difficult conditions. Please go out of your way to say thank you, it is not only the right thing to do but a tremendous Kiddush HaShem to show our gratitude.
