PHOTO: A driver who reportedly had a gun pointed at someone’s head, was stopped by nearly a dozen Lakewood and Toms River police officers this morning, and was arrested – though no gun was found, police say.

At about 10:30 AM, police received a report of the alleged incident with the armed driver heading down Route 9, and the multiple officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle with no incident in the area of Chestnut Street and Route 9. But when they stopped the vehicle and removed the vehicle’s occupants at gunpoint, no gun was found, police say.

Police say one of the two occupants in the vehicle however did have a warrant out for his arrest, and was taken into custody. It’s unknown what the warrant was for. TLS-YD/TLS-50/TLS-CCP.
