3 kidnappedBREAKING REPORTS: Reports in the Israeli media indicate that the bodies of the three kidnapped Israeli teens – including one American – were found a short time ago.

KolHaolam and NewsBreakers report the Cabinet is expected to meet shortly regarding the developments.

Israel Hatzolah says the bodies were found in a ditch near Chevron.

UPDATE: 1:37 PM. The teens were likely shot to death close to kidnapping, according to reports.

  2. Please only publish such reports from official sources. There have been many rumors flying around, even in so-called legitimate news sources. The IDF Spokesperson hasn’t published any such information yet.

    In Israel, releasing information, true or untrue, which was not published officially, can endanger lives. The military has reason why and when it releases information.

    That said, we will all know very shortly.

  21. There was a Ha’aretz tweet that was sent out and deleted, Al Jazeera has reported it as well, and there is an Israeli security cabinet emergency meeting in session as well.

    The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity before the official announcement, said the Army had found the three bodies buried “in a field near Hebron” and were waiting to inform the families before releasing information.

    “They know it’s the three, they will know for sure after they do the autopsy.”The official said the three appeared to have been shot to death, likely “very close to the kidnap” time, and that the prime suspects had still not been caught.

  27. Yes this is terrible and tragic news. Yes The Lakewood Scoop was the first on the internet to post it. Yes I’m sure TLS had a confirmed source before posting but look at the comments. Everyone commenting as if they don’t trust a site they check daily, hourly etc. The Lakewood Scoop would not have a site if they jump the gun and report such things without their own proof. Yes I wish there was a happier ending but I think everyone should learn to not jump to conclusions that the site is making up stories.

      Indeed, I feel that all of Lakewood is grieving, and we are all valiantly trying to get through our day and be there for those around us even as we are consumed with anguish.

      We’ve all felt the intense love for these boys we did not know every time we saw their picture; let us try to hold onto that love and feel it for every yid, no matter his or her background or affiliation.

      May Hashem bring the end to all tzaros with the coming of Moshiach very, very soon

    I write this with a bereaved and bleeding neshama as tears stream down my face. To most of Kehilas Lakewood the name of my late father, R’ Moishe Dovid Kuppermann, Z’TL, is a household word, and many of your children call my beloved mother, “Bubby Anya,” A’MVS.
    On behalf of the Kuppermann Family I extend our most profound gratitude and commendation to the entire Lakewood Community, so very dear to us, for demonstrating such tremendous achdus with all of K’lal Yisrael as we grieve together in shock and anguish for the unthinkable slaughter of our three beautiful Yeshiva Bocherim, HY’D.
    Since they perished Al Kiddush Hashem I pray that their names and memories not only be a Blessing for Kol Acheinu Beis Yisrael but also a Rallying Cry that we absolutely must retain our achdus as a People, for without unity we are lost. As my wonderful Tatte, who so many of you knew, always used to quote to me from the Kotzker Rebbe, Z’TL, “There is nothing more whole than a broken Jewish heart.” Why? Because there is nothing more OPEN than a broken Jewish heart. You may not know this but my Tatte’s philanthropic largesse, his tzedakah and gemilus chesed, extended to Yiddim of all stripes, even to secular Jews, because his devotion to chinuch was matched by his commitment to achdus. I believe very strongly, as did my Tatte, R’ Moishe Dovid Kuppermann, Z’TL, that if we keep our broken Jewish hearts open and embrace all other Yiddim as our own mishpacha, we will not merely survive but thrive as whole and Moshiach will finally arrive to redeem us, IYH, and then the only korbonos we will ever know again will not be our precious kinderlach or any other Jewish souls but the ones in the Third Bais Hamikdash.
    May Gilad Michael ben Bat Galim, A”H, Yaakov Naftali ben Rachel Devora, A”H, and Eyal ben Iris Teshurah, A”H, all have the highest Aliyah in the Yeshiva shel Maalah!

I’m sure you wouldn’t never remember me but I introduced myself to you at the big luncheon five years and saw you also when your Tatte Reb Moishe Dovid, ZL made the dedication of Bais Anya, I’m not an educated lady like but you write so beautiful I copied your letter to show it to our neighbors to say to them look you should know it this is a richtiger Yiddische neshama! The way you express your emotions dear Doctor are so leibicke and I know that Reb Moishe Dovid Kupperman, ZL he is kvelling baShamshim to have such a fine tochter as devoted to Yiddische achdus. If it isn’t too forward of me to ask this of you do you have an email where I can maybe write you?
