New Jersey Republican Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04) has been ranked the 30th most bipartisan member of the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the annual report on bipartisanship just released by the Lugar Center.
Smith, who last year drew the ire of former President Trump for voting in favor of the infrastructure bill, received a score of 0.891, ranking 15 among all Republican members.
Trump has promised to endorse a primary challenger to Smith but has yet to follow through. In the 2020 election, Smith outperformed Trump in the 4th district by over 10 points.
By contrast, the most bipartisan member of the House, Pennsylvania Republican Brian Fitzpatrick, received a score of 4.001.
Last year, Smith, who recently moved to Manchester after redistricting excluded his former hometown of Hamilton from the district, placed number 5 overall.
New Jersey Democrat Rep. Josh Gottheimer (5th) ranked second overall.
Of the other members of the New Jersey delegation, Reps. Andy Kim (3rd) ranked #46; Mikie Sherill (11th) was #40; Tom Malinowski (7th) was at #149; Donald Norcross (1st) is at #140, Donald Payne Jr. (10th) finished at #274, Frank Pallone (6th) at #307, Albio Sires (8th) at # 263, Jeff Van Drew (2nd) at #54, Bill Pascrell (9th) is #157 and Bonnie Watson Coleman (12th) is #278.
The Lugar Center is a public policy group headed by former Indiana Republican Senator Richard Lugar and by Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
Why doesn’t he help the Jan 6 political prisoner s out?
Because insurrections are not good for democracies.
When people go on a riot to try and prevent the democratic process from working, they should be jailed.
The question is, why so short? The sentences should reflect the seriousness of what they attempted to do.
And the Lugar center has been ranked the 60th most bipartisan group among public policy groups, according to annual report on bipartisanship just released by the bipartisan ‘AOC/Obama/Castro Center’.
These people we’re demonstrating there constitutional rights against a possible stolen election, yes they are political prisoners. Look at those contrast protesters how many of them are still in prison. Btw the election was stolen.
