Regesh Network Fields over 800 Calls in First Month; Rabbi Yehuda Jacobs to Answer Calls Each Wednesday

regeshThe Regesh Network, an organization in Lakewood last month to assist youths going through difficulties, has received over 800 calls since its inception, the founders tell TLS.

The topics were not shared due to confidentiality, but the volume of callers speaks for itself.

The Regesh Hotline is a network created by a group of skilled and caring educators who, through their personal work, realize that more can be done to take a preventive approach to helping our youth going through difficult times.

“We don’t proclaim that we will solve the “Teen at Risk“ crisis, however, this is just one small step to let our youth know that there is someone out there that cares,” the organization stated.

Callers were children as young as 9 years old. About 400 girls called in, 300 boys, and 100 parents.

The organization also announced, that Rabbi Yehuda Jacobs, Mashgiach in BMG, will himself be answering the Regesh Network phone lines each Wednesday evening from 8:45 – 10:00 PM.

“We kindly ask to limit calls to 10 minutes to allow others an opportunity.”

  1. ‘someone out there cares about the teens at risk.’ WHAT IS GOING ON! WE NEED TO HAVE AN ORGANIZATION TO SHOW WE CARE ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY!?!?!?
What happened to the days when we would take the shirt off our backs for others?! Next time you see someone in distress or despair, smile at them and show u care.
