Reflections of a Talmid for the 20th Yahrzeit
———————————-
The following is a letter from Rav Zalman Gifter, son of the Rosh Yeshiva, and Rov in Toms River:
To preserve the spiritual legacy of the Rosh HaYeshiva Hagaon Horav Mordechai Gifter zt”l, Kollel Ateres Mordechai was established to accomplish the monumental task of publishing the entire body of his Shiurim and Torah writings, as he requested in his Tzavaha. This includes thousands upon thousands of pages which span the entire breath of the Torah – Halachah, Aggadah, Tanach, Mussar, Hashkafah etc. In these writings the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l examines the Torah in his uniquely profound manner, and derives valuable and timeless lessons from them. Heretofore, we have published a Haggadah Shel Pesach with the Rosh HaYeshiva’s commentaries, seven volumes of Nesivos Mordechai, and six volumes of correspondence, Mili Deigros. We have also made a website, KOLLELATERESMORDECHAI.org. This website will give you the opportunity to hear the Rosh HaYeshiva as well as view and download the Torah and Machshovah of the Rosh HaYeshiva from the Library section where we have put all the Seforim and are constantly adding new material. Much work yet still remains.
It is with great pleasure to let you know that we are now working on Pirkei Emunah, which entails Shiurei Daas of the Rosh HaYeshiva, in addition to the next volume of Nesivos Mordechai on Bava Basra and volume seven of Mili Deigros. Opportunities for dedications in the Seforim are available.
It goes without saying that the adage, “If there is no flour, there is no Torah”, applies to all Torah endeavors, including this one. Funds are needed to pay for the network of scholars who review, edit, and prepare the writings for publication, as well as for the actual publication costs.
Dear Friends! We turn to you now as we approach the Twentieth Yahrzeit of the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l, the twenty-third day of Teves, January 7, 2021, with the hope and expectation that you will comprehend the communal responsibility we bear to express our gratitude to the Rosh HaYeshiva zt”l, and to assist him meaningfully in the realization of his vision – the publication of his Chiddushei Torah. By supporting our labor of love, you will be making the Rosh HaYeshiva’s Torah thoughts available to a wider public.
With all best wishes for a healthy and feilichen winter,
Rabbi Zalman Gifter
yep, we all wore short sleeves back then, now im a nerd for wearing it
