Readers’ Scoop: Witnessed A DWT

I just witnessed a young driver drive right through a very busy intersection without stopping! No, he’s not one of those Hatzolah or EMS members responding to a call. He was DWT. Driving While Texting. It’s intoxicating. I admit it, I’m guilty too. But you don’t realize the enormity of the situation until you see it with your own eyes. It was an eye-opener. I will ignore my phone and blackberry while driving my car.

2.getting rid of the EMS is worse rishus

Big deal, I witness on a daily basis:

DWAYCOTFSWNSB (driving with a young child on the front seat with no seat belt)

SARSSBTDILFM (Speeding and running stop signs because the driver is late for minyan)

TTTCIAMVTOHESBFS ( ten to twelve children in a minivan that only has enough seat belts for seven)

CBMNRIMBHWNEMTACTACSATSS (car behind me nearly ramming into me because he was not expecting me to actually come to a complete stop at a stop sign)

There is plenty more but i am getting dizzy from typiing all of these acronyms but I invite the oilom to contribute

in all seriousness, we need to take driving awareness and responsibility as serious as we take tznius.
if someones daughter was rejected because everyone knows her parents drive like animals, things would change!!

I kinda need to like text my like friends and stuff like when I’m driving and like I needa ask her if like the skirt I like just bought is like cute or not I kinda get distracted and kinda like text and stuff while I’m like kinda driving by mistake. I’m really gonna try to like be more careful after seeing that scary movie.
