Readers’ Scoop: Still Without Trash Cans

dpw_headquarters_tlsI was wondering if you can post a readers scoop about the public works. I moved two and half weeks ago and I am still without garbage cans. I called and left messages at least five times no one got back to me. I finally spoke with someone and they said they will deliver them on Friday. I still didn’t get them. I went down there and they were not much help either. What do I do now????

  1. walk about five feet to either side of you and use one of your neighbor’s five cans………..
then call 732 364 2500 and ask for steve…..hes still got 11 days left…….in his public office career

  2. thank you steve langert doing great for this town all the fuy wants is a garbege can and when he will put his grabage out in the street he will get fined probaly too wow what a wonderful town we live in any other part of nj this would not fly!!!

  3. Ask to speak to the Director Al Burdge he can take care of it for u, I did and it worked. You need to have a Certificate of Occupancy (C0)for the residence, my problem is i had the wrong paper from the building dept. at first.

  4. This is how the DPW spends our hard earned tax dollars .they laugh at you and couldn’t care its time for accountability in this department. The taxpayers should have a say in who runs it maybe if they had elections for various dept heads we could get rid of those that are not doing their job.

  5. I recently moved. when i called the DPW i made sure to talk to someone and they told me that it would take upto 3 days to bring me new cans it didnt take 3 days it took 3 hours later and they already deliverd them.

  6. I had same issue just last week. We got hold of a guy Steve (i think), and within the HOUR Public Works delivered a can. The other guy, i forget his name was IMPOSSIBLE to deal with and we left him 100 messages over two weeks

  7. You’re worried about garbage?!! We were driving on Ventura Drive today (Sunday) and just missed being hit by another van, who was on his cell phone in the middle of the street with no reagard for anyone else. Next time, I’ll get his plate# and a picture and we will call the police. There are children walking/playing in our streets. We don’t need you “casing” our homes on Sundays. Should we visit you on Saturdays? How RUDE!!!

  8. To #15 I smell some dislike there but your always welcome to my house on a Saturday for some good Shmaltz herring some hot Chulent and a Ice Cold Beer.

  9. If you want something done talk to Mr. tony, he seems to be the one to get things done. He is always very helpful and understands the needs of the residents. He took care of my street sign problem and got my bulk picked up when they missed my house.

  10. This must be very frustrating for you – it is hard to understand – my experience with publick works has been very favorable. I missed the call for pick up, and they came the next day as a favor and were very understanding

  11. To lakewood resident says:
had the same problem in my neighborhood ,being bothered on Sunday with “IS YOUR HOUSE FOR SALE? ” I said do you see a sign?? Was thinking about going around on Sat ringing their door bells to see how much they would like that?

  12. To #23: tried to reply back to you. Yes, we’ve been having the same problem for a long time here. Anyway, they deleted my comment, so you may not get this either. I can tell you this: we’re not leaving our home. We all know what’s going on here.
