VIDEO: In an exclusive video by Shimon Gifter, Rabbi Yehuda Levin discusses NY politics ahead of the upcoming elections. During his heated interview, Rabbi Levin states that in Lakewood, where an overwhelmingly large percentage of Frum voters voted against John Corzine, it was he an other Askonim who were behind it, by hanging anti-Corzine signs in Yeshivah and other places.
“So who represents more, Agudah or Yehuda Levin?” he says.
(Part pertaining to Lakewood is from 1:00-2:00 mark). Video credit: Shimon Gifter.

um, i thought it was the letter from r shmuel meir that did it for me & the rest of the yungerleit i know…
Who made this guy a Rabbi. I am embarrassed of him. The Oilam didn’t want Corzine nothing to do with Levin, & his issues. To me he is an anti establishment The Chidushei Hari”m said vie men tracht dort ligt men. That explains this guy.
maybe there is a reason we listen to the roshei yeshiva. one never knows who is really behind those who think they know better than the roshei yeshivah.
R’ Levin I heard Neturei Karta is looking for a Manhig.
Levin is the man !!!!!!!!!!
Reb. shmuel Mier only got involved after Rav levin made a rash godel.(I rember) it was Rav Levin who pulled it off with the help of others. KOL HACAVAD TO HIM !!!!! thanx.
Rabbi Levin is REAL! AbouT 20+ years ago, Rabbi Avigdor Miller ZT”L asked Rabbi Levin to run against the rasha liberal Ed Koch – for mayor of NY. –so he did!!!!!!
I remember years ago, in NY, Koch wanted to allow/pass haschasa’dika zachen in NY & (young) Rabbi Yehuda Levin stood up against him — AND HE WON against the MAyor of New York!!
Raboissai! I know most of you dont really know too much of the wonderful askanus of Rabbi Levin, but he is a kanoi’i whom Rabbi Miller ZT”L pushed and asked to do his kanoi’is.
I also remember him standing up & rallying against mayor of NY David Dinkins. Please I just dont got the time for all this.
But, let me tell you, if you lived in NY 20 – 30 years ago, you would understand that Rabbi Levin is REAL emes. Just pay him a visit and chap a shmooze with him, and maybe you’ll understand…
to #1
BTW I did not vote for Corzine because of Rabbi Yehuda Levin’s outcry. I also know of many others who did not vote for corzine bec. of R’ levin.
Rabbi levin
dont listen to the nay sayers
we only knew corzine is bad because of you
we all listened and one
thanks so much
keep up the good work
Rabbi Levin is a one-issue man. There is one issue that gets him riled up, that’s it. Very strange.
Rav S B Cohen was a big reason for it
I’m surprised to see the overwhelming support for this fellow. I personally dont the way he goes about doing things. What kind of person stands in front of a Church in NYC protesting and making comments to the media. what do you think you’re going to accomplish?
This whole challenge to debate the OU is hilarious. Levin has delusions of grandeur. The OU does not consider him to be a legitimate voice which it finds necessary to debate. The only reason it chose to mention him at all was to publicly disassociate the mainstream Orthodoxy which they represent from this man.
You know, it’s real easy to say that a gadol is behind everything he does. Especially when said gadol is not here to say if he does or does not support him in what he does. A letter given to him years ago by Rav Miller is not carte blanche to do whatever he wants in his name.
Miguel
The OU represents mainstream orthodox jews? since when?
R shmuel meir got involved because yungerleit asked him if he approved of the vaads endorsement b/c they implied that in their flier. It had nothing to do with Levin. He needs to do more media appearences, wonder if rabbi miller held of that!
This is simply not true. The oilam went against Corzine because he would not support vouchers. Christie did, and has kept his promise. Let’s not re-write history.
we followed d gedolei hador r meir stern r shmuel kaminetsky shlita
Everybody in Yeshiva knows every word that Rabbi Levin says. So obviously, every one keeps on listening to his hot-line.
The Oilom does get Hispailos from a person like him, that does not sway.
I for one did not vote for Christie because of R’ Levin… I actually never heard of him before. However, I did watch the video posted and others as well as seen him on videos from national programs. The only thing that comes to mind is that he is an embarrassment to Kllal Yisrael. He has no Hadracha, no support from any accepted Torah authority that I can tell, is abrasive and sarcastic in his communication style. There is much more to making a Kiddush HaShem (something he claims to be doing) than just taking the Torah position… it is HOW you present it and WHEN and WHERE. It is having the wisdom to know what NOT to say as much as what to say. This is what happens when people launch off even with the best intentions, as I’m sure this man has, but without the wisdom of an Adam Gadol (a live one that is) to guide him. Rav Yaakov would never have done this, Rav Pam would never approve of this, Rav Moshe would be disgusted by this. Kiddush HaShem is every bit as much of the how, than it is the what… It is not too late for R’ Levin to direct his good intentions in a way that would create the Kiddush HaShem he seems to want in a way that would not cause the Chillul HaShem that I believe he is creating.
I am a big supporter of Rabbi levin, yet it is WRONG for him to take credit for this. I sent him a fax on election day because he advocated NOT to vote for Christie. His reasoning was, that although Christie was anti alternative marriage, Christie was, and still is pro civil unions. Rabbi Levin called me after receiving the fax, and still advocated not to vote for Christie. Some times one has to be practical, and choose the better of two evils.
You all might as well be sheep! You dont think for yourselves, just follow whatever someone tells you to do!
I voted for Christie because the state of NJ was in shambles and was bankrupt, and we needed a guy like Christie to cut the budget and stop the runaway tax and spend culture in NJ.
It was also a protest vote against Obama, and I believe most informed Lakewooders who voted for Christie feel the same way.
Next Rabbi Levin will say that he got everyone to vote for Hershel against Bob Singer??????? Who is he fooling.
Thw people of Lakewood are SICK SICK SICK of runaway taxes and spending, as is most of the country who will come out on NOV 2 and vote straight Republican.
(Except of course for those who want to remain on welfare for the rest of their lives)
I did NOT vote for Corzine only after I saw Rabbi Levin’s video.
He looks like Dov Shurin
Couldn’t have said it better #21.
Vote Paladino!!!
