PHOTOS: Bikur Cholim of Lakewood and Hatzolah coordinated and hosted an event at Jersey Shore University Medical Center this past Friday. The event commemorated the miraculous recovery of R’ Pinchos Huminer after his horrific accident last Purim and was attended by the top officials at JSUMC and Meridian Health and R’ Pinchos.
The Chairman of the event was R’ Moshe Geller of Bikur Cholim, he explained that we are not just celebrating one individuals recovery, but rather the special care and devotion for humanity that JSUMC displays.
A special plaque was presented to Mr. Shawn Smith, Senior manger of guest relations, for his tireless and endless dedication and commitment to working together with the community and especially for the new Bikur Cholim room which was recently provided, in addition to the newly renovated room. Dr. Garcia, Director of the trauma unit, was also presented with a plaque in recognition of the tremendous care and devotion which R’ Pinchos received throughout his ordeal. Mayor Menashe Miller presented and read aloud a letter obtained by Bikur Cholim from the Israeli Ministry of Health thanking Mr. Steven Littleson, President of JSUMC, for everything his hospital had done. An emotional and moving video presentation was shown of the entire Huminer family thanking the president Mr. Littleson and his entire staff.
Also attending the event, was Reb Matisyahu Solomon, who quoted a posuk from Shlomo Hamelech and explained that it takes more than good medical care to heal a patient. Keeping a patient in good spirits and making sure his needs are met are more important and this is what JSUMC provides and contributes.
The event was attended by R’ Yisroel Schenkolevski and other Askonim. TLS.

My kids stayed overnight w/ R’ Pinchos in the hospital in the days following his accident. Based on what they told me, to call R’ Pinchos’s recovery miraculous is, really, a gross understatement. DB
Rabbi Kasira is a huge tzadik.
I see the chaplains were there! Thank you chaplains for always being there for the needs of the pateints in JSUMC and all the area hospitals
This is another reason why we are so lucky to have Jersey Shore in the area as our regional hospital. I personaly have come in contact with both Mr. Smitha nd Dr. Garcia who would do anything for the health of our community…..hashem give them strength to continue in there great ways!
