R’ Pinchos Huminer Is Transported Back To Eretz Yisroel – Wife Thanks Bikur Cholim, Jersey Shore Medical Center

Huminer leaving to eretz yisroel picPHOTOS: This afternoon, Pinchos Ben Sarah Esther, the Yid from Eretz Yisroel who was critically injured in Lakewood on Purim after being struck by a car, has returned to Eretz Yisroel. R’ Pinchos, who remains in stable but critical condition, was transported to Eretz Yisroel where he can continue receiving care while near his family.

Several members of Lakewood Hatzolah were joined by other NY Hatzolah members at Newark airport, where they loaded R’ Pinchos on to the plane, with his wife at his side.

The transport was arranged by Bikur Cholim, Hatzolah, R’ Michoel Rottenberg and Shrage Pinter, who have been involved with the Meshulach since his incident, seeing that he is being cared for by the top Doctors and with the best possible treatment.

The following letter – translated from Hebrew – was given today by the wife of R’ Pinchos, to Bikur Cholim:

“With Shevach V’hoda to Hashem we are returning to Eretz Yisroel today. I want to say a few things before I leave”.

“Gratitude and appreciation are  shallow words we can use to describe  what we as a family have to JSUMC (Jersey Shore University Medical Center) and its staff. When My husband was taken into the JSUMC , being 6000 miles away was very scary for us”.

“For the first few days we were in contact with R Yehudah Kaszirer, and R Shlomie Ingber from Bikor Cholim. It was almost scary to hear the confidence in their voices  stating “Reb Pinchus is getting World Class medical treatment”. I had the feeling that it is to good to be true”.

“The minute I stepped into JSUMC I fully understood where R Yehudah Kaszirer and R Shlomie Ingber get that confidence from. JSUMC is a hospital that others can learn from on every level. From the minute you walk in you see the professionalism of the JSUMC team”.

“World class medical treatment is the key to recovery. But it is the personal touch of the staff at JSUMC, that’s has comforted me so very much. The staff is so passionate about their work and you can not just see it , you can feel it. The amount of times a staff member has gone out of their way to help, is simply heartwarming”.

“I would also like to thank all the dedicated volunteers of Bikor Cholim of Lakewood who have  spent 100’s of hours these past few weeks to ease the difficult time. Thanks for over 50 rides local and long distance. Thanks for the meals. Thanks for the Advocacy. Thanks for all Bikor Cholim volunteers for everything you have done. You have done such an amazing job. The dedication of the volunteers is a shining example to the world, what Chesed is all about”. TLS.

  1. I’m on Bikur Cholim’s text list, tho I’m not a very active vol. The amt of rides back & forth from lkwd to the hosp, from BP to the hosp, from lkwd to JFK/Newark, food being dropped off was insane. I’m also v/ proud of my 2 sons, Simcha & Reuven who, tho not beong official BC vols, twice took overnight shifts to stay w/ the choleh in the hospital. But really, what R’ kaszirer, shloimie Ingber and Shmiel Weiss did for R’ Pinchos is absolutely incredible. Chazak V’ematz. Dudi. (I’m avail for chinuch advice by appt)

  6. Rabbosai, this ought to be a wake-up call for us. Bikur Cholim is in need of more volunteers. Just add ur name to the txt/e-mail list. U can take a call once a week or once a year. There’s no pressure – but u never know when a small effort on ur part will help s/one else immensly. Its a good feeling, too. Just call the office any time & Mrs mandel will be happy to put u on. Tizku L’mitzvos.

  7. Despite a busy schedule Reb shloimy and all the volunteers give up nights and day
for cholim at JSMC. Hashem should give them koach bracha and hatzlacha.
