Pushy ‘Energy Savings’ Salesman Signing Unsavvy Customers

A salesman from an energy savings is making his way around town and signing up unsavvy customers without properly explaining the ‘fine print’. The pushy salesman is telling homeowners about the great advantages of his program but is reportedly not explaining the consequences of cancelling the program and the associated fees. Many homeowners are under the impression that they have nothing to lose by signing up.

Before signing up and handing over your electricity bill, be sure to read the fine print on the back of the sign-up sheet which details the fees. TLS-EM.

  1. That is a shame! There are many good, reputable companies out there that offer legit savings to homeowners. People like this make it very hard for people who represent honest companies.
Do not get caught up in deals that tell you how much their company will save you. Check it out for yourself. Many who say they will”save you 20% off your bill” are come ons….only for a few months then BAM you get hit with the high rates.

  2. last year people in westgate signed up for something like this and when the weather got really hot their a/c was shut off to save engery
people need to be careful with any sales person coming to their door who they don’t know

  3. There are companies that have a good flat rate, provide opportunities for legitimate fundraisers for not for profits, and tell you all the details up front, such as termination fees. We are cheaper than current JCP&L rates. Better yet, you can start your own business and show your friends how to work with a reputable company. E-mail us for more information.

  6. last year jcp&l was the cheapest in august making up for the difference of the year. unforunately we dont know the rates till the end of the month besides that most people dont want to keep switching
