Private Dinner For Business Leaders From Tri-State Area Held In Lakewood To Benefit Yeshivas MIR

mir party picEXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: On Monday evening, a private, exclusive dinner was held in Lakewood for CEO’s and business leaders from around the Tri-State area, to benefit Yeshivas MIR Yerushalayim. The event, which was attended by approximately 100 men and women, was attended by the Rosh Hayeshivah, Hagaon Reb Nosson Tzvi Finkel Shlita, and by Harav Binyomin Eisenberger Shlita of Heichal Hatfillah in Boro Park, a Talmid of MIR, who served as guest speaker at the event.

The event was designed by Mrs. Chaya Sara Thau, and was catered by POSH Caterers out of New York City. The tent and event furniture, was provided by B&B Tent & Party Rental.

The evening offered a 4-dish main-course, a bar and many other amenities which attendees say was like no other event in Lakewood before.

“It was a very successful event”, attendees tell TLS.

The Rosh Hayeshivah, who suffers from a medical condition, travels to the US each year to try and close the over $10 million budget gap the world largest Yeshivah has.

If the Yeshiva is suffering such huge deficits, why isn’t charging any tuition. Seems to me that the parents of the boys that go should shoulder the cost.

Generally speaking the more affluent are more connected to gashmius, after all they have worked hard and are dedicated to making lots of money. It is not fair to judge their partying untill as most of us are not machshiv gashmius so much. We should be happy and gratefull that these yidden are supporting torah. They, are entitled to a bar.

Who said they don’t charge tuition? Before a bochur goes to Mir, tuition arrangements are worked out with the parents & the NY office.

all this Kavod for the Ball Habatim. the real Kavod should go to the Talmedim. they are the ones that should be served meals like this, what type of message are we sending here. even if this has to be done to raise the funds for the yeshiva it shouldn’t be publicized.

to smart one. Perhaps at tomchei Shabbos dinners we should only honor the recipients of the food packages. At cheder dinners only the talmidim should be honored, not those who gave $. Give me a break already. Yissachar Zevullin is a partnership not a kavod contest.

I was there, it was a an exclusive by invitation only dinner, there was a doorman, you not on the list u no come in, People have to understand that the People out there that write a check for minimum $5000 and some close to $100,000 dont want to be served franks n blanks or sesame chicken. A lot of the people there have never stepped into the Mir and ones that were enrolled in the Mir also probally never stepped in. The reason there are no photos is bc these people who give these kinds of checks al lot of them dont want to be splashed all over town, hence no pictures.

Not buying it.

avi, how much did you give? or were you the door man?

I’m glad to see people use their sales skills to raise money for a mosud like the Mir. However, it is sad to see the hoops the Rosh Hayeshiva has to jump thru to get it.

rabbi eisenberger is a talmid of both rav kupelman ztl and an alumnus of mir yerushalyim in fact it was with the encourgment and urging of the rosh hayeshiva reb nosson tzvi shlita that reb binyomin opened his minyan with over 200 mispallim in the basemnet of kminetz on 56th street in BP and maintains a very close relationship with the rosh hayeshiva shlita
unfortunatly some people need to be wined and dined and be given kovod=hence only by invitation only its a status symbol in order to get them to open their pockets and part with their money. they are giving up part of the schar in olam haba with being wined and dined in the false world we live in but if thats what it takes to keep the yeshiva going thats what they have to do
many years back we were going to have an exclusive dinner for a certain mossad here in town and was cancelled the last minute being it didnt “Poss” to do a quote on quote exclusive guest list affair
guess times have changed even here in lakewood ihr hatorah

you can be sure though the wealthy read the scoop as well so you can write your messages here to get your feelings across

Please lets stop the attacking. This event wasn’t made for the people we know that go to the dinner, melava malka’s and parlor meeting’s for the Mir. This was catered, yes to the people that can afford to give larger checks than most, but mainly to the people who never heard of the Mir and would’ve never heard of it if not for the fact that R’ Baruch made this event. The Rosh Yeshiva Shlita wasn’t made to jump through hoops to come here. He made 100’s of thousands of dollars (not to mention new relationships) in a few short hours because of this and thats why he shlepped in from Eretz Yisroel; because he felt that it was his achrayis to relieve the burden of the expenses of running such a large makom Torah. So thank you for the event and tizku lmitzvos is what every comment should read.

It was minimum 5 thousand to get through the door and from what I heard no one that went gave less than 10 thousand, it was for the privately wealthy in town and nice amount of wealthy out of towners. It is what it was an exclusive dinner that was invitation only and they raised a lot of $.

the Dinner was a kiddush hashem of the highest caliber B.H. there are yungeliet like R Burech that have the heart and mind to use the money that hakudosh burchu gives him to support torah on such a grand scale .and he not only gives his neshoma to the Mir he helps many individuals beseser that nobody knows except the receipient and hashem ashrechu vashre chelchechu continue at mea veesrim shono umen

why was my comment removed? is it osur to decry flagrant ostentatious behavior, even when it is wrapped in a cloak of respectability and kashrus? I think TLS has set a higher standard for fair and open discussion in the past.
