Motorists who frequent the intersection of 7th Street and Princeton Avenue, and nearby streets along the same avenue, can attest to the high traffic volume – and multiple motor vehicle accidents which occur at the intersection.
In response to the frustration expressed by many, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein last night proposed for the Township to look into installing a 4-way stop sign in the area.
Committeeman Lichtenstien has asked for Traffic and Safety to conduct a study in the area, and advise the Committee on which street, or streets, would warrant and qualify for the 4-way stop.
The intersection of 7th Street and Park Avenue was also a nightmare to motorists, until it was made into a 4-way stop approximately two years ago. [TLS]

Maybe a crossing Guard is needed?
That intersection is a nightmare! I am not sure it will get better until there is a traffic light.
This intersection has much more volume then Park and E.7
It’s time for a traffic light, brooklyn style.
If the people would park legally, the intersection would be alot safer.
Putting up a 4 way stop sign, would increase tie ups
Whats with martin luther and pine?
They have to stop with this 4 way thing popping up all over. It’s the dumbest thing!!!!
Are you kidding? A four-way stop sign will create more confusion with driver’s responding five different ways. As it is, you have out-of-the-ordinary traffic situations even on regular two-lane side streets.
its about time !
happy the township is waking up !
I can attest to the traffic situation on this corner. not only is the traffic light necessary, but the a left lane turning lane as well!!!
1) The people of lakewood can not and will not properly obey the 4 way stop. Most people don’t even understand the proper protocal in that situation.
2) All these stop signs and lights are adding to the chaos. The building needs to stop.
I drive there every day, as is without a stop sign Princeton is always backed up northbound at the 2:00 rush hour, putting up a four way stop sign will increase congestion and confusion. The proper solution is either a crossing guard that directs traffic [not just crosses kids the street when they come] or a traffic light, but the four way stop sign is the worst idea in my opinion.
