President Trump this evening released the following statement regarding the immigration executive order which caused an uproar around the globe.
“America is a proud nation of immigrants and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression, but we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border. America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave.
We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say. My policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months. The seven countries named in the Executive Order are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror. To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting.
This is not about religion – this is about terror and keeping our country safe. There are over 40 different countries worldwide that are majority Muslim that are not affected by this order. We will again be issuing visas to all countries once we are sure we have reviewed and implemented the most secure policies over the next 90 days.
I have tremendous feeling for the people involved in this horrific humanitarian crisis in Syria. My first priority will always be to protect and serve our country, but as President I will find ways to help all those who are suffering.”
Good luck believing these lies. I know you think you’re special, but this man has no more regard for you than he does for Muslims. Look at his statement on Holocaust remembrances. So while you’re all sitting on your high horses thinking he’s just after your enemies, the next thing you know it will be you.
To Goldie: I am shocked and in disbelief that you can possibly have this viewpoint. First of all what do you suggest is a safe and better approach? Is it better to take the approach of Germany and France, to open its doors to anyone and everyone who claims to be a refugee even from areas where ISIS has proudly declared its plans to infiltrate these refugee entries and kill innocent people? Look how that plan has turned out in Germany and France so far. How many have been killed?? Imsgine if you operated a guest safe house im your home, and before you answered a knock at your door to allow a line of people inside you overheard two of the people on the other side of the door whispering that once they’re inside they will kill your family. Would you allow the entire line inside and hope the two were joking? Or maybe you’d ask each person if they are a good boy? Our enemies have not hidden their intent to harm innocent people by pretending tonbe refugees, and HAVE SUCCESSFULLY DONE SO IN COUNTRIES WHICH HAVE LET THOUSANDS IN. Why should we not put on hold those countries from where the danger is most likely to come, until we have a system in place to check thesse people out properly and to protect against infiltration? And as for your second suggestion, Trump has dealt with and employed orthodox Jewish people for years, including his business’s chief counsel and advisor,who personally related how respectful Mr Trump always was of this man’s religion throughout the years. Mr. Trump even sent him home when it was getting close to Shabbos even though they were in middle of negotiating a major business deal. And please provide source quotes of whatever you claim he said regarding Holocaust remembrances. Not a quote from the NY Times or Washington Post but an actual quote from something he said.

Goldie I totally agree with you is like if he is targeting Muslims, mexicans, and other minorities is ok. Is like some people has forgotten that once they were the target. Persecution is never ok even if we dont like certain groups, thats not the way to go specially for a country that was built by immigrants and shouldn’t be other than grateful to those that today are being call invaders. The first invaders came from europe in pilgrim costumes to my perception those are the ones that should be leaving if they are not happy.

He is neither targeting Muslims nor Mexicans you just believe the media narrative and cannot think for yourself. He has not “gone after” anyone who is a legal citizen he is trying to protect our borders by stopping illegal immigration and travel from countries that support and/or train terrorists (as categorized by the obama administration, are you saying obama was wrong!? Are you a racist?). This whole narrative of Muslim ban and Mexican ban is just a way to invoke the selective outrage so easily spread by the leftist mediai refusing to report the facts and truth.
To Cat: nobody is targeting Muslims, Mexicans, or anyone else. Muslims who are not from countries where ISIS is likely to be hiding among refugees are still welcome. Mexicans who wish to come LEGALLY by following the proper process and applying are welcome. Why is it so hard for some people to understand this is not about “persecuting” minorities. It’s about protecting against infiltrates WHO HAVE PROMISED TO INFILTRATE AND SNEAK IN AS REFUGEES, and preventing others from coming in ILLEGALLY. One more thing: I can’t stand when people say how this country was built by immigrants- OF COURSE it was- nobody is saying otherwise. But it was built by LEGAL immigrants, who came to this country following the laws of entry and who struggled and became CITIZENS! My own grandparents were true refugees, escaping hell on earth but came in legally.
And while looking into the word “illegal”, Dorothy Solkowitz, some people should know that it’s also illegal to employ illegal aliens. And the only reason the illegals keep coming is that they are always provided with illegal employment.
