Power Restored To Nearly All Lakewood JCP&L Customers

UPDATED: About 90% of Lakewood JCP&L customers had their power restored following the Nor’easter. According to the JCP&L website, only about 1,085 Lakewood customers remain without power, down from about 10,000 who lost power following the Nor’easter.

Shortly before the Nor’easter hit, JCP&L had restored power to about 20,000 of the approximately 21,000 who lost power. But then disaster struck again.

From the approximately 1.2 million JCP&L customers out, there are about 55,000 still without power.

UPDATE SUNDAY: According to JCP&L, only 431 customers in Lakewood are still without power, and 1% of all customers in the State. The remainder of the customers should have power restored by tonight, the energy company said.

A Township official who spoke with JCP&L says the company requested that anyone still without power should call 888-544-4877.

  1. What does “ONLY 1085” are still without power mean? We are in Raintree and have already discarded a full refrigerator and freezer full of food. Are there any meaningful answers?

  2. Downtown clifton and the 88 npgs are not going to get back power for a good while still they have to fix a underground cable and who knows when they are going to fix it

  3. We still have no power. I drove around last night and saw entire neighborhoods that were completely dark so i don’t buy JCP&L’s statistics. I also haven’t seen more than a couple of trucks on the road this morning. It seems like they are out of crisis mode and back to business as usual. The rep at JCP&L told me this morning that power should be on by tonight…unless Lakewood is a barrier island in which case it might be much longer.
