this is terrible. money should go to improve drainage. Granted its alot of rain in such little time, but this is not the first time this occured.

Years ago , public works department used their sewer truck to clean out sewers. That needs to be done because the sewers get all types of junk in them thus creating poor drainage.

Now you people tell me- where is the rain going to go, but in the streets. Keep building. More humongous houses. More driveways. Multistory townhouses on a small piece of property. No place for the rain to soak into the ground. Didn’t have much flooding like this a few years back. However, the town allowed developers to build, build, build. And this is what happens. When is the town going to STOP THE BUILDING??? BTW- I have lived in Lakewood since 1962 and I still live here. Lakewood WAS a nice SMALL town back then.

Agreed. This is what happens when you have all this building that was allowed. Nobody to blame but the town administrators. You reap what you sow.

Lakewood has a majority problem and the Government failed in its safety and priority. 1. A Parking Garage is needed by 9th and 10th st to keep Clifton and Lexington st clear. 2. All Traffic lights should be generated. 3. All drains shall be cleaned often. 4. BMG shall have a Parking Garage to keep students off the public streets to maintain safety ok our roads. 5. Stop double parking near the Shul. 6. Improve safety on Main and Rt 88 no blocking the street so people can make a left turn. 7. Street lights are mostly burned out in this town. 8. End aggressive drivers in this town. 9. Increased speeding enforcement in this town to maintain safety. 10. Fix the road and clean up all the garbage in this town. Why people pay taxes for this Township is irresponsible and they should improve and maintain our township.

If you see a drain stuffed, call the township. It took me 3 tries but BH it’s cleared and I got them to clear others. Builders, upon completing a house are supposed to remove a protection pieces under the cover of the drain. The drain, they told me the drain still works but of course it should not have been left there.
