FIRST REPORT: TLS has learned that Lakewood’s Postmaster Tom Wagner has been reassigned to other duties and will no longer be serving as the Postmaster of Lakewood. Sources say his new assignment to desk duty is an internal issue, and reportedly is not connected to the recent issue regarding the proposed closing of the main post office.
The Postmaster, who a receptionist says is ‘on vacation’, worked out of the Swarthmore branch.
The new development however is said not to affect any ground operations. TLS-CCP.
It is said to effect the operations!! The operations and service will finaly get better!!
Does it have to do with the tremendous amount of lakewood mail getting ‘lost’?
Obviously there were performance issues. I wonder if he will still get his cushy salary:

It gets delivered even to address that are not similar at all and no place for confusion
This has been a long ongoing issue, as this guy was transferred from another place he was kicked out of. He (moderated). Looking forward to the new Postmaster!!

hopefully our simcha invitations will now arrive as in other towns before the simcha not 3 days or a week later we will now all be able to save gas running around to all the mail boxes around town and to howell boruch sheptrani
Guys, Please don’t knock the service you recieve in Lakewood from your carriers. By far, you have some of the best carriers around. We deliver thousands of pieces of mail a day in all conditions. If once a year you accidently get a letter for your neighbor, relax. We help a lot thoughout the community. Just last week during the holiday, I had 2 customers leave their stove on and the pilot went out. Do you think I had to walk in to their house full of gas and turn the stove off? But we care about our customers, and most care about us as well.
I hope they will start delivering Certified mail instead of just leaving a notice!!

THE CLECKS IN THE POSTOFFICE ARE WONDERFUL AND THE LETTER CARRIERS ARE GREAT. IT IS THE POSTMASTER THAT HAD TO GO AND NOW FINALLY HE IS GONE LET’S HOPE FOR BETTER DAYS
The mail delivery service in lakewood is the best, look even the lakewood weekly went back into the mail and I get it every week before shabbas.
I can say that from all the Post Offices I have visited around the country, we by far have the most caring and dedicated staff in the Clifton location! They REALLY care about our community.
The complains we have are not about the staff (Jerry, Nick, Teri, Sharon, Sally- you are the BEST!!)- its the PostMaster and higher ups that have been constantly getting in the way of the the Postal Workers in Lakewood to serve our community needs. They cut the employees hours or transfer them to Swathmore, when we need them most. The lines become unbearable at times. When the AC went kaput, they made us wait in 90 degree weather for days if not weeks to have the air condition repaired in the building.
Now, my personal opinion about the mail getting lost or ‘misdelivered’ has a lot to do with the new developments popping up like mushrooms after a storm and routes are not fully instated. Again- that’s my take on how the system works (or doesn’t)

Is it normal to receive mail at six PM?
The postal workers for the most part are very nice and do a great job !! The post master did such a horrific job he not only made him self look bad, but the whole Lakewood post office as well . I hope his replacement fixes the mistakes !!

Yes it is normal to receive mail at 6pm, when someone calls out sick and another worker has to stay overtime and do the extra deliveries. These postal workers do care, and try their best.
WOW such an icon years of being at the start of lakewood our post office, yes I do agree we have wonderful good people who take the time to answer question and help those who seriously need it. with all the changes in the mail dept they help the community stay up on it. so why are we as human beings so hard on those who work with what they have to better serve us. and lets remember everyone has a Boss who gives direction to do and not to do. We must always try to see something good in everyone, why? because there is. Dont be so judgemental towards others,cause it will be measure back to you later on in life. Lakewood Post office you are the BEST in my book 4-ever
