NY state lawmakers are proposing that all police cars in New York state be retrofitted with bullet-proof glass after two New York City officers were gunned down in their car this past weekend.

Should New Jersey follow?

  1. Even if one police officer’s life is saved, we should all be willing to support this, money cannot be an excuse when it comes to lives. The poll should be 100% in favor.

  2. The question is will bulletproof windows help. Were the 2 officers shot through open or closed windows? I assumed the windows were open. What about our own Officer Matlosz? Were his windows open or closed? I support any measure that makes our cops safer. We need to focus on meaningful changed and not feel-good ideas, though.

  3. This will be taxpayer money…unless someone is going to fund every police veh is this town..this will add weight to the veh and added fuel costs for the town, heavier vehicles more gas usage.
I agree something has to be done but I do not agree its adding bulletproof windows to every vehicle..the cars alone will be expensive enough not to mention the Small SUV’s and Supervisor Vehicles.
