A Rasmussen poll released places Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie four points ahead of Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine. Christie leads with 45 percent of likely voters to Corzine’s 41 percent, while independent candidate Chris Daggett trails with 9 percent. Five percent of likely voters said they still are undecided. In another sign that the campaign has become more volatile, support for all three candidates shifted in the last week. Christie lost two points, Corzine lost three points, and Daggett gained three points.
The poll suggests backing for Daggett is soft, with 57 percent of his supporters saying they may change their minds before the Nov. 3 election, compared with 27 percent for Corzine and 20 percent for Christie. Star Ledger
