This question is too ambiguous. “Has it encouraged?” Does that mean that one already acted and got one? What if one is encouraged but hasn’t yet implemented the process yet? How about everyone that has filters and went to the Asifa – is this category skewing results by responding no to the above question because there is obviously no encouragement to obtain what one already has?
There is no option for I already had a filter. That should encompass a large percentage of Lakewood
I think this is all a big joke. Chasidim in williamsburg are forbidden to use the internet and they make this huge gathering to explain to their community why internet is so bad…. Meanwhile, since it was a men-only gathering, they set up huge screens in a hall in williamsburg for woman to follow the event live… ONLINE!!!! It is very hypocrite in my eyes… If internet is that bad, don’t use it at all!
It didn’t encourage ME because I’ve had one for years already but I know countless people who never dreamed of getting one who now have a filter. Many people even gave up their internet if they realized it wasn’t really needed for business.
#3 – that’s the point, it can be used for business ONLY – such as theichud hakehillos business of showing the event.
The problem with the success of people deciding to put filters on their computers is that people will think that the Asifa was a good thing. Just because a good thing came out of it doesn’t mean it was a good thing. Was it worth the bizoyon of our gedoilim? Etc.
To TLS Editor: There should also be an option C – I already had a filter. otherwise you are not getting the full picture
do the filters filter out loshon harah to?
“This question is too ambiguous. “Has it encouraged?” Does that mean that one already acted and got one? What if one is encouraged but hasn’t yet implemented the process yet?” Like me, who PLANS on getting one but hasn’t yet?
